If you’ve never visited Bermuda, you’re definitely missing out on quite an experience. Don’t be fooled by the laid-back vibe.
There’s a lot to see with magnificent views that will stay with you for a lifetime and a lot going on at this island paradise.
Bermuda may be commonly known for its turquoise ocean, powdery pink-sand beaches and Bermuda’s favorite rum drink, the Dark and Stormy, but there’s much more to this island paradise than folks zipping around on scooters wearing brightly colored shorts, Bermuda is a golfers paradise.
Did I forget to mention it’s only a 2 to 3 hour non-stop plane ride from Atlanta? Very pleased to read this! Ready to spend four lovely nights in Bermuda with my daughter. We were excited and off to an awesome start, about to have some fun girl time! Wooohoooo! Finally we arrive pink sands, turquoise water, and baby blue skies. It’s Bermuda, and it is perfect, just like that we were addicted and wanted to experience it all.
Cheryl had an exciting idea to zoom through the streets and start exploring the island without wasting a minute, by renting a scooter and break free from the world.
Bermudians like to drive fast and the roads are VERY narrow with almost no way out if you get into trouble. So the roads and driving conditions are much different than anywhere else in the world and they drive on the left side of the road. Enough said! This was too much out of my comfort zone. Not so sure if such short lessons they offer would be really effective.
Horseback riding is another way you can move around Bermuda and the Spicelands Riding Centre is one of the two stables on the island. We had to try this, we went up trails and over to the beach, the view was spectacular.
The food in Bermuda was beyond yummy. It’s a large reason why I knew I had to workout while there and this came easy while channeling our inner mermaid for the ultimate dolphin experience, at Dolphin Quest. We actually got close enough for a kiss.
Also not to be missed are the Crystal Caves. Not having experienced anything like this before, I was astounded at the fantasy-like formations. The water is so clear that you can see down 50 feet below you. Hanging above you the profusion of stalactites, that is actually what they’re called. They are astonishing. Not to mention, Beyonce did a photo shoot in the caves a few years ago. I think our pic is just as stunning as hers, don’t you agree?
Now here’s where things get even more interesting…
While we had an incredible time lounging on the beach and eating delicious food at the restaurants, we had so much fun discovering the coral reefs. But you don’t always need to go diving to discover the beauty of the Bermuda reefs. If you cant’ swim, what do you do? Well, you go within the maze of your thoughts, and crazy ideas come up, such as: If you are more comfortable on a noodle than underwater, you can still get to the reefs.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d be in the ocean on a noodle trying to get to a reef, but I did, with Cheryl dragging me along. We had the best time together in Bermuda!
Now that I’ve divulged in the best relaxing and adventurous things to do in Bermuda its time to go somewhere else…….
